The tourism industry is one of the largest economic sectors in the world. With around 100 million employees, it is one of the most important employers. if you want to pursue a career in the regional and global tourism industry, a degree programme with years of experience awaits you in Deggendorf. Despite the Corona crisis - the tourism industry offers you a wide range of professional perspectives and career opportunities. Perhaps because of the Corona crisis, the tourism industry is reinventing itself. And you can play a role in it. You will learn the tools for the job with us. In addition to business, geographical and tourism-specific knowledge, you will also learn important social skills. A semester abroad at one of the many DIT partner universities is very popular with our tourism students. English and Spanish are also integrated into the timetable as important foreign languages. The study programme is clearly oriented towards the needs of the tourism industry.

The tourism industry is the future industry of the 21st century. In Germany alone, it generates around 3 million jobs. The range of professional applications is more diverse than in any other sector. It ranges from management positions with classic service providers, such as airlines, airports, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agents and destinations to trade fairs and congresses, health resorts and spas, event management and modern reservation systems.
The chances of getting an adequate job after successfully completing your studies are very good. The graduates of the study emphasis tourism management offered so far hold management positions with renowned employers such as Condor, Seetours, Hilton, Accor, Frankfurt airport as well as local tourism organizations and/or - enterprises. The job offer increases continuously by the increasing Akademisierung of the routistic job market.
Against the background of the increasing internationalisation of the tourism industry, international aspects and the development of language skills are of great importance.
