Research, development and teaching in the field of mechatronic systems is the central task of the Technology Campus (TC) in Cham. A modern, attractive research and development centre, which fits ideally into the regional, industrial landscape of the Cham district, was created on the banks of the river Regen.
Companies interested are provided with laboratories on the following research topics:
In addition to a pilot plant for the construction of production plants, robot systems or machine components, there are further laboratories for factory simulation (2D and 3D), for rapid prototyping as well as production and automation technology.
The central tasks of the Technology Campus Cham encompass research, development and teaching in the field of mechatronic systems. A broad spectrum of different topics from the field of mechatronics, such as mechatronic production technology, rapid prototyping, robotics or simulation technology, are represented at the TC Cham.
In conjunction with research and technology transfer in direct contact with the industry, training and continuing education play an important role. In the laboratory, students from the region are introduced to the technical content of mechatronics by means of selected experimental set-ups.
In addition to awakening interest in modern technology, this is also intended to support the commitment of young engineers to the region.
A consistent step in this direction are courses directly taught on campus. Teaching initially began on October 4, 2011. The German-taught undergraduate programme "Mechatronics & Project Management for Digital Production" has been complemented by the four English-taught postgraduate programmes "Mechatronic and Cyber-Physical Systems" as well as "Artificial Intelligence for Smart Sensors and Actuators", "Applied AI for Digital Production Management" as well as "Intelligent Robotics".
Technical further education, subject-related as well as part-time in a broader environment, is a further pillar of the activities adherent to the Technology Campus. Furthermore, a wide range of courses is tailored to the needs of the regional industry, covering topics from the mechatronic environment. Other courses, such as part-time postgraduate programmes, are developed according to industrial needs.
Knowledge is becoming increasingly important for companies as a business resource. Nowadays, having the latest know-how in your field has become more important than ever - the better you know about new developments, the better you can convince your customers with competence. We offer expertise from practice for practice.
By closely interlinking science and research with the requirements of the regional economy, we provide the ideal location for excellent training and further education as well as applied research and development.
The Technology Campus Cham supports laboratories in the areas of automation, production technology, robotics/drive systems.
The Technology Campus Cham cooperates regionally with partners from the industrial and educational sector. In addition, there are numerous cooperation partners involved in our research projects of the individual working groups.
Team success in collaboration with our network partners
For their donations and continued support, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all sponsors and supporters of the Technology Campus Cham.
