Tourism is under increasing pressure to legitimise itself. The central challenge in tourism in the coming years will be to transparently present its effects in space and on its people as well as to shape them in a positive sense. This Master's programme aims to provide graduates and future tourism managers with the necessary competences for this.

The Master's programme "Transformation and Sustainable Habitat Development - Redesigning Tourism" is part of a cooperation between the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology and the universities of Kempten and Munich. The Master's programme benefits from the high tourism competence of the participating universities. It is characterised by an interplay of disciplinary expertise and interdisciplinary development competence. In addition to subject-specific competences, professional action competences are also taught through the close link to practice. In this way, the university's methodological competence is closely linked to the professional competence of the cooperating universities. The degree programme qualifies you to recognise transformation processes taking place in the economy, society, politics and the environment and to solve problems with the help of the interdisciplinary competence of tourism. The courses of the digital master's degree take place online, but parts of selected modules per semester are held in presence.
