Psychosocial counselling.

Psychosocial counselling supports you

  • in case of signs of psychological complaints (concentration difficulties, sadness, self-esteem problems, loneliness)
  • if you are overwhelmed with study-related issues (stress, procrastination, exam anxiety, motivation)
  • for all personal problems that you find stressful and for which you would like support, as a decision-making aid and in conflict situations.

The contact people at the Deggendorf Campus and Cham Campus are the social pedagogue Julia Penzkofer and Elena Kellner.
In case you're not sure if you're in the right place, feel free to ask.

Counselling works preventively with your personal resources and supports you in developing the necessary skills to deal with the situation.

Therapy is more of a (curative) intervention that includes treatment, healing and coping. I.e. in the case of strong psychological issues in the area of anxiety, depression, compulsions, etc., the therapy can be used as a preventive measure.

  • Decelerate - Give yourself breaks from social media, news, etc. so that you are not flooded or even disturbed by too much information. You can, for example, only selectively catch up on the news 1-2 times a week so as not to be overwhelmed with a flood of information.
  • Relaxation - Go into nature, go for a walk or do some kind of sport to get a balance to the stressful everyday life.
  • Get enough sleep and make sure you have a good sleep-wake cycle.
  • Surround yourself with people who are good for you and enrich your life. Maintain your contacts with family, friends, partners, etc. Seek support and help others.
  • Be open to new things and try something different.
  • Pursue your passions and find out how you can realise them or where you can get involved.

  • 7Mind Study offers a free subscription for students. There you will find guided meditations on various topics! Information and registration can be found on the 7Mind website.
