Review of the 9th Research Day
On 10 March 2022, the Covid-19-related Research Day took place online for the third time.
Peter Meier from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Media Technology, the winner from 2021, kicked things off with his keynote address "The Beat of The Beatles: Interactive music analysis using the example of beat tracking". Afterwards, nine selected young researchers faced the challenge of presenting their research projects in no more than three minutes in such a way that even non-specialists can understand what they are working on.
As always, the presentation topics were extremely diverse. In detail, the topics were MeDiLand: Medizin Digital zur Verbesserung der Versorgung auf dem Land, Hybrid Tooling - Entwicklung eines neuartigen Fused-Filament-Fabrication Verfahrens mittels des innovativen Einsatzes von hochstesten Stahlfilamenten zur Erzielung einer Materialeinsparung von 70 %, Perspektive der Studierenden auf Digitale Lehre und Studium an der DIT, Learning Purely Tactile In-Hand Manipulation with a Torque-Controlled Hand, #DieWirkt - Die Weiterbildungsinitiative ressourcenschonende Kreislaufwirtschaft, PrIO - Prozessinnovation und Industrie 4. 0 in SME optics manufacturing, VITAF - Trustworthy IT for Autonomous Driving, Direct H2 and Inno4Health.
The race for the coveted challenge cup, the Best Presentation Award, was won by Domenic Sommer from the Technologie Campus Grafenau. With his illustrated and entertaining presentation on the project MeDiLand: Medizin Digital zur Verbesserung der Versorgung auf dem Land (MeDiLand: Digital Medicine to Improve Health Care in Rural Areas), he was able to inspire the audience.

In the Best Poster Competition, Enrico Weigelt (Institute ProtectIT), Domenic Sommer (Technology Campus Grafenau) and Andreas Federl (Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Media Technology) won three vouchers from Bücher Pustet for their great posters. This year, the posters were once again designed with the guideline "One picture, one sentence". All 30 posters are available in the form of a sheet version or listed individually by project below. as well as a virtual poster exhibition.
