Aspects of sport and exercise science are becoming increasingly important in the research areas of prevention, rehabilitation and lifestyle interventions. In the Master's degree programme in Applied Sports Science, you will be trained to become a scientifically reflective expert who can competently, creatively and critically perform managerial tasks in sports-related fields of action. The aim is to further deepen your sports science knowledge and skills. Nowadays, those who coach athletes work together in a team with colleagues from a wide range of professional fields. One focus of your training will therefore be team-oriented care and the equal appreciation of cooperation between all.

As a graduate of the Master's in Applied Sports Science, you will pursue professional fields of activity in the sports-related support team or in the sports-rehabilitative treatment team. You can also work as a trainer in sports clubs and sports associations, as a sports scientist in research institutions in elite sports and higher education, in health, prevention and rehabilitation institutions, in the field of health education or in occupational health management and health promotion. You are the person to talk to when it comes to innovatively and competently finding better training, treatment and nutrition approaches or scientifically dealing with problems. Your knowledge of performance diagnostics, training control, sports nutrition, sports medicine and performance physiology, digital sports equipment technology or IT applications in sports will then be in demand.
In scientific and practical studies, you will still find traditional models of interaction that you can renew and modernise for today's sport. Training, guidance and support in sports is characterised by a multitude of different professional fields, where your management focus lies on. Particular importance is attached to the development of concepts for cooperation in care teams by optimising interprofessional communication. The inclusion of interactive digital solutions such as mobile devices, wearables and telemedical procedures is essential in this area.
