Keynote: Will generative AI become the greatest doctors’ assistant they have been waiting for?
Large language models (LLMs) and generative artificial intelligence are moving from hype to practice. Early technology companies are incorporating elements of genAI into electronic patient records, medical large language models - like Med-PaLM - are passing medical exams by answering more than 90% of questions correctly, and ChatGPT recently became a hero by diagnosing a boy with a rare disease that 15 doctors could not help. However, AI raises many concerns, like dangerous and hardto-spot hallucinations, ethical issues, and potential mistakes when AI is used by untrained medical staff.
What can genAI do, and why will it (probably) become a co-pilot of every doctor?
